So er uh, what had happened was…. Let’s put it this way, I’m sticking to just coming up with stuff on my own and not trying to recreate mess I find on Pinterest. That place is evil and the tutorials make it seem so easy that even a monkey could do it! Well I’m not falling for it anymore…. hmph!
So I came across this super cute tape mani while looking for inspiration. I saw this picture on the blog The World is the Stage and thought “Oh I could do this… this looks easy.” (insert side eye to myself for thinking the impossible)
“hhhmmm… looks simple enough, let me try it!”
So I grabbed my polishes and some tape and went to work. I read that painter’s tape works well and makes it easier to remove the tape, but I couldn’t find any in the garage. I know I have several rolls of it but it’s cold as a mutha in the garage and “ain’t nobody got time for dat” looking around and freezing just to find some darn tape.
So I applied 2 coats of NYC white nail polish. Well at least that part was easy!
Next I got my tape and began to place it on my nails like they were in the picture. I applied one coat of a Zoya poilish (can’t recall the name) and then removed the tape after it dried.
So far so good!
So this is when it all started to go down hill. I applied a coat of quick dry clear polish but I think I applied to much. When I took off the tape it pulled the orange color up a bit. :/ But hey I wasn’t going to give up that easily so I kept on because I just knew the end result would be the bomb! Booyah! I got my black striping polish and applied the lines, but by this point I was just over the whole thing and wanted to hurry up and get it over with!
Oh well I at least will give myself an “A” for effort! LOL
This is all I have to show and I quickly removed it after I realized how jacked up it looked. Oh well… see ya next week with something simple and easy like polka dots!
